Disclosed is a resin composition containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin (A) having an acid-modified group and a biodegradable polyester (B), in which an aliphatic polyester (B1) and an aromatic-aliphatic polyester (B2) are contained in a ratio of (B1)/(B2)=61/39-99/1 as the biodegradable polyester (B). The resin composition is excellent in water solubility and biodegradability and, when used as a molded article material and as a support material for additive manufacturing, allows wastewater generated by washing away unnecessary molded article after additive manufacturing to be discharged without performing special treatment.
