The present invention relates to a method for producing pellets comprising a polyhydroxyalkanoate, and pellets produced thereby, the method comprising: (1) a step for injecting a raw material including a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and an additive into a twin-screw extruder to form a polyhydroxyalkanoate melt; (2) a step for supplying the polyhydroxyalkanoate melt to a die plate through a gear pump; (3) a step for passing the polyhydroxyalkanoate melt through the die plate to form a polyhydroxyalkanoate melt strand; and (4) a step for cutting and crystallizing the polyhydroxyalkanoate melt strand in an underwater pellet producer to form pellets.
