The Cellulose Fibres Conference wants to give them a stage. This time, the nova-Institute is also inviting all researchers in the field of biosynthetics to apply. To further reduce the use of fossil-based synthetic fibres, cellulose and bio-based polymer fibres (“biosynthetics”) are an excellent option due to their wide range of properties, making them suitable to replace almost all fossil-based synthetic fibres. The technology and capacity of cellulose fibres and biosynthetics needs to be developed, and the award gives the start-ups the opportunity to gain publicity and possibly find industrial collaborators. As the world grapples with the environmental impact of traditional textile production, there is a growing demand for more sustainable alternatives, especially from brands that consumers trust and recognise as leaders.
